AI in cooking range/ hob top/ cooktop or gas stove stands for auto ignition. It means that you do not need a lighter or matchbox once you turn the knob for gas supply. The ignition pin will spark and gas would turn into flame.

Hence if you see written AI in some model, it means  that AI model is auto ignition while without AI may be simply a manual igniton model.

There are different view point regarding Auto Ignition, some people consider this as security feature, if by mistake someone leaves the knob open there is a risk of gas leakage.

however, some customer say that they prefer manual ignition because some kid turning the knob would also lead to gas wastage.

Auto ignition lately is achieved by installing ignition spark pin with a power supply from battery cell/ lithium battery. However, there are premium products where auto ignition supply is from a power socket as well.
